The nature of support
Voluntary support is separate from SIMA membership dues, event registrations, research purchases and sponsorships. The support page identifies areas of work and invites a conversation. An inquiry does not collect funds, establish a restricted fund or promise a benefit in exchange for a contribution.
Recipient and purpose
Before contributing, confirm the full name of the receiving organization, the intended purpose, amount and currency, and whether the recipient accepts any requested restriction. Association programs, the SIMA Environmental Fund and the SIMA Humanitarian Fund are distinct routes. A label on this site is not a substitute for the recipient identified in your transaction and receipt.
Program and general support
Proposed support may relate to environmental protection, humanitarian relief, industry education, research, sustainability or the association’s wider work. A designation applies only if expressly accepted by the recipient. Discuss how funds will be used and whether any goods, recognition or services accompany the contribution before authorizing it.
Tax treatment
SIMA is a 501(c)(6) trade association. Payments to the association are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. Do not treat association dues as a charitable donation. Separate fund contributions require confirmation of the receiving entity, current eligibility and any benefits provided. This website does not guarantee a deduction; consult your tax adviser and retain the recipient’s documentation.
Payment, recurring support and refunds
This site’s support inquiries do not establish recurring billing. Before using a hosted contribution link, review the amount, frequency, recipient and transaction conditions. Contact the receipt’s recipient about mistaken or duplicate payments or a refund request. Eligibility is determined by that transaction’s terms and applicable law.
